Job Description

Position Summary:
The National Director (ND) serves as chief representative for Christian
Children's Fund (CCF) in the country. Provides the vision and strategic
leadership and has full operational responsibility, ensuring effective
operations management. The ND serves as the key link between programs and
community organizations supported by CCF and is accountable for assuring
that high standards of performance and accountability in meeting CCF goals
are in place. As the most senior management staff in the country, the ND
contributes to and participates in activities that support the regional,
CCF's mission, and strategic direction. Actively liaises with key functional
teams within the headquarters office, throughout the region, with
international alliance partners and with governing or advisory boards within
the country.
Key Responsibilities
*Leadership/Planning: *
- Provide leadership and direction for CCF National Office program
through strategic planning, development of strategic alliances, learning,
research and documentation, to support the achievement of the strategic
goals of the organization.
- Active involvement with the National Office's Governing or Advisory
Board(s) to ensure that the country has a dynamic, diverse and effective
board that enhances CCF's image, provides resource mobilization and
expertise, and national representation in key areas.
- Effectively represent the organization and build CCF's profile and
position as a strong child development organization and a leader in
children's issues.
*Management/Operations: *
- Ensure adequate financial, human, and physical resource allocation
and management, and quality standards for the successful implementation of
CCF's strategic plan and mission.
- Effectively delegate management tasks and responsibilities amongst
program sponsor relations, finance and other staff, maximizing existing
capacities, time allocation and other resources.
- Provide overall financial oversight for all revenue in the country,
including annual budget planning.
- Ensure efficient systems for Program, Finance and Sponsor Relations
management and monitoring are in place and maintained, including relevant
data collection and reporting.
- Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations, CCF's policies
and procedures and donors' requirements.
*Resource Mobilization: *
- Provide leadership in acquisition of diversified resources, in
country and internationally, and their proper use in pursuit of quality
programs for child development.
- Network and promote partnership and alliance building with relevant
donor agencies, CCF affiliates, other NGO's, government and international
agencies to achieve increased program impact.
*Program Management: *
- Expand and develop CCF's programs through initiatives, focused on
keys issues for Child Protection and Child Development, that further CCF's
impact on the well-being of children and their communities.
- Provide leadership in the implementation of results-based program
management model and the adoption of evolving program methodologies.
- Ensure timely and effective grants administration, monitoring and
reporting.

- Ability to demonstrate support for innovation and organizational
changes needed to improve the organization's effectiveness; initiating,
sponsoring and implementing organizational change and helping others to
successfully manage organizational change.
- Demonstrated technical expertise in such areas as project, budget
and resource management.
- Ability to recognize, react and adjust to rapidly changing
conditions and to lead the resources in the appropriate direction with
cohesiveness and a sense of urgency.
- Effective under pressure, results oriented and proactive with the
ability to multi-task.
Requirements:
- Postgraduate level degree or above in community development/social
science or relevant discipline.
- At least 10 years experience managing development work in a senior
management position, and working with INGOs.
- Prior working experience in Brazil and other countries in Latin
America.
- Experience in working with governing boards a plus.
- Demonstrated strong management skills.
- Experience with emergency programs, as well as community development
preferred.
- Experience in the management of large institutional grants.
- Experience in child focused programming a plus.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills and proven ability
in Portuguese and English Language.
