JOB ANNOUNCEMENT OF A GREENPEACE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR<BR><BR>
Greenpeace stands for positive change through action. It <BR>defends the natural world and promotes peace. It investigates, <BR>exposes and confronts environmental abuse by governments and <BR>corporations around the world. It champions responsible and socially <BR>just solutions, including scientific and technical innovation. Its goal is <BR>to ensure the ability of the earth to nurture life in all its diversity. <BR> Greenpeace Chile seeks an individual with a strong commitment to <BR>its core values. The new Executive Director will lead Greenpeace Chile <BR>at the forefront of environmentalism to enhance its position as an <BR>active catalyst for positive responses to global environmental threats. <BR> <BR>
Candidates will:<BR>o Provide vision and strategic direction in leading Greenpeace <BR>Chile at the vanguard of environmentalism.<BR>o Lead and inspire all members of staff and volunteers and work <BR>with the Board to ensure proper governance and accountability.<BR>o Work closely with Greenpeace International, Executive Directors <BR>of other Greenpeace national and regional offices, and leaders <BR>of other civil society organizations, government and industry to <BR>develop and implement effective national and global <BR>campaigns.<BR>o Have a successful track record of inspirational leadership at a <BR>senior level within a complex organization.<BR>o Display substantial experience of campaigning, advocacy and <BR>success in generating change.<BR>o Demonstrate a deep understanding of regional, national and <BR>global politics and the ability to influence those in positions of <BR>commercial and political power.<BR>o Participate in, and lead major donor fundraising to secure <BR>significant funding for the work of Greenpeace. This will involve <BR>directly cultivating and soliciting individual major donors, and <BR>grant giving foundations.<BR>
