 Job Description

Under the direction of the Chief of Party, the Senior Specialist oversees
all formative and evaluative research conducted on the AI.COMM Project. S/he
works closely with the AI.COMM Regional Research Advisors and Country
Coordinators to determine what types of research activities are needed in
country programs, and then engages the project's research subcontractors in
designing, implementing, and reporting the results of research studies.

Masters in one of the following or related fields: Behavioral Science,
Demography, Epidemiology, Public Health and Sociology required. Doctorate
preferred; min 10 year(s) of relevant experience required; knowledge of
basic statistics required; knowledge of epidemiology and/or social network
analysis highly desirable; knowledge of design of formative and evaluative
research; knowledge of designing, implementing and analyzing focus group
discussion and in-depth interviews required; knowledge of how to develop
research RFPs (Request for Proposals) and manage research procurements to
ensure fair market competition according to USAID regulations; Must be able
to travel to international locations up to 25% of the time.
